Ojai in July Wedding

We had the pleasure of working with Kristen and Dylan, a lovely couple who were referred to us through a happy former client. Though they both lived and met in Durham, they were marrying in Ojai in July. The bride’s family was from Ojai, and their wedding was in the church where both her parents and grandparents had been married. What a sweet tradition! After hearing their stories, we proposed a design that would highlight the beautiful location of their wedding.

An Ojai in July Wedding

For Kristen and Dylan’s design, we created an original postcard inspired RSVP, using vintage images from historic postcards. We also created a simple invitation suite in navy and white with touches of greenery. The navy is traditional and grounds the bright greenery color, while the green accents echo the lush orchards around their venue in Ojai. They kept the invitation simple with a modern sans serif typeface accented by a fun retro calligraphy font. Address labels on their navy envelopes carried through the calligraphy font and the greenery accents. As a nod to Dylan’s passion for geocaching, the couple created custom 3D printed geocaching coins for their guests to take home as favors!

A French Provincial Evening with Weddings Magazine

We had the pleasure of working with Weddings Magazine to create the invitations and stationery for a dinner they held at The Oaks at Salem, with a French Provincial theme. The evening promised an al fresco food experience, with guests enjoying farm-to-table cuisine cooked with French flair in the open air. The balmy June weather and beautiful venue set the stage for an evening of delicious food, enchanting music, and flowing conversation!

French Provincial Evening with Weddings Magazine

For Weddings Magazine, we created a rustic French chic invitation suite, with tones of coral and navy anchored by a bark-textured kraft lotus fold backing card. Pops of red lace and polka dots added layers of texture and color, while a navy toile band wrap was topped with a metallic antique gold seal. Featuring a vintage ‘etched’ illustration style, the French provincial theme of the evening was carried through the invitation suite and menus through the etched illustrations, with fleur-de-lis flourishes and a custom illustration of the venue, The Oaks at Salem.

Southeastern Bride Photo Shoot

We worked with Cheryl-Anne Kast of Kast Events to stage this beautiful photo shoot for The Southeastern Bride, Book Two, “In Bloom”.  It was a great experience working with these other local vendors to realize her vision of an elegant Spring floral wedding!

Southeastern Bride Photo Shoot

For this design, we created a soft wedding suite to vibe with April florals for this Spring wedding. Tones of blush are anchored by a soft gray pocket fold, which neatly contains a detail card with a custom map, a rehearsal dinner card that carries through the floral illustrations from the invitation, and an RSVP card. The matte, textured gray is formal and traditional but still soft, and the blush tones are neutral but add romance and subtle color. A beautiful digital handwriting font and custom monogram seal were other focal points of the design.

Formal and Romantic in Niagara Wedding

We had the pleasure of working with Becca and Terry, whose destination wedding at Niagara Falls gave us plenty of inspiration. We enjoyed their color palette of blush and navy, and the opportunity to add some gold ink to their vintage inspired vibe.

Formal and Romantic in Niagara Wedding

For Becca and Terry’s design, we were thrilled to use a cool printing technique called thermography. This process uses heat to apply inks to paper that results in a glossy, slightly raised finish that looks very luxe while being less expensive than traditional letterpress. It can be a great option for couples who are looking for that wow factor while working within a budget!

We created an invitation suite for Becca and Terry in navy and blush, which have been popular colors over the past year. The navy is formal and traditional, and the blush tones are neutral but add softness, romance, and subtle color. A beautiful digital calligraphy font, hand-drawn flourishes, and the metallic gold thermography were other focal points of the design.

Formal Beach Wedding

We had the pleasure of working with Lauren and Terry. They were planning a destination wedding to Amelia Island, Florida. They had a vision of a formal, traditional beach wedding, and we designed a luxe wedding suite to complement their style.

Formal Beach Wedding

For Lauren and Terry’s design, we worked with an ecru and gold color palette. The invitation panel, details card, and RSVP card were foiled stamped in gold, and their ecru envelope featured a metallic gold envelope liner. Their extras included custom napkins with their monogram in gold foil, escort cards printed on a metallic gold card stock that matched the envelope liner, menus printed in gold foil, and itinerary/welcome cards with whimsical beachy accents including sunglasses, shells, and flip flops.

A Blush and Navy Monogrammed Wedding Invitation

We were lucky to meet this sweet couple at Engagement for the Engaged, an event where engaged couples can meet with many wedding vendors under one roof.  Their sense of humor was charming and infectious, and that playfulness carried through their design, including a custom monogrammed wedding invitation.

Blush and Navy Monogrammed Wedding Invitation Details

Lawren and Jean’s design features a custom envelope liner map as a nod to their family being from all over.  A monogram of their initials takes center stage on the main invitation. Their colors of navy and blush are balanced between formal and traditional, with softness and subtle color.  A classic script font and border flourishes add a lighthearted elegant touch, while metallic accents bring the “wow” factor.

Congratulations Lawren & Jean!

Navy and Coral Duke Chapel Wedding

We had the pleasure of working with Melanie and Greg, a couple who wanted to celebrate their connections to Durham, NC, and Washington, DC, as well as their historic wedding venue at Duke Chapel in Durham.

Navy and Coral Duke Chapel Wedding

For Melanie and Greg’s wedding, we created a vintage inspired design that drew on the stone work at Duke Chapel for inspiration, including some original drawings based off the carved cathedral. Pieces also included skylines, a custom monogram, and a balance between traditional and modern elements.

A Navy and Blush Duke Chapel Wedding

A popular wedding venue here in Durham is Duke Chapel, and if you’ve ever seen it you know why. It’s English style neo-Gothic architecture makes for a picture-perfect scene. We always love seeing the photos for a Duke Chapel Wedding, as they always feel so timeless.

Navy and Blush Duke Chapel Wedding Details

For Mary Pat and Jonathan’s design, we created an original postcard inspired Save the Date, using vintage images from historic postcards. We also created an invitation suite in navy and blush, which have been extremely popular colors over the past year. The navy is formal and traditional, and the blush/champagne tones are neutral but add softness and subtle color. A beautiful digital calligraphy font, hand-drawn flourishes, and a custom map were other focal points of the design.

Congratulations Mary Pat & Johnathan!

Glitz & Glamour Durham Wedding

We often get requests for location-themed invitations and the skyline images we create are a popular choice. This time we were able to amp up the glam! This Durham wedding invitation suite features a blush pink and gold color scheme. To top it off we added a bold gold glitter band wrap. The combination really catches your eye.

Durham Wedding Details

The programs include an illustration of Duke Chapel, where the ceremony was held. Dorothy and John had us create many extra details for their reception held at Bay 7 in the American Tobacco Campus. Extras include menus, thank you notes, and even a sign suggesting guests try the night’s signature drink “The Crash Davis”. The name being a reference to the couple’s newly shared last name.

Congrats Dorothy & John, and thank you for choosing us to be a part of your special event!
