An Art Deco Wedding at Lake Tahoe

We love Art Deco-inspired events like this wedding in Lake Tahoe, which was a scene fit for the Great Gatsby himself. For Art Deco events, we create invitations and other details using our collection of several thousand graphics and images from this memorable era in art and design.

Lauren and Bradley’s design used two bold features. The “wow” factor came from metallic, foil-stamped, copper accents. A yellow Art Deco pattern added color and style. Repeating that pattern on the other items in the wedding suite tied everything together visually. A letterpress invitation panel added the over-the-top feeling of Art Deco style. Name tags tied to antique keys took the place of typical place cards for an extra special, romantic touch.

Congratulations Lauren & Bradley!

A Simple Modern Typographic Wedding

A Simple Modern Typographic Wedding

Leah and Reid, who wed at The Cotton Room here in Durham, came to us with some great design concepts.  They had a great sense of humor, and they wanted to create a wedding with a strong graphic identity.  They envisioned a simple modern typographic wedding with playful elements, and we loved bringing that to life.

For Leah and Reid’s design we created a simple, modern invitation suite with an emphasis on typography.  Letterpressing the invite for a clean and luxe feel, their suite featured a charcoal pocketcard accented with metallic pearl.  It was important to include their sense of humour, showcased by footnotes with nods to their shared history or inside jokes.  The footnotes were also a nod to Reid’s career as a professor of philosophy and academic writing.  A custom monogram was repeated on the cake and other elements of their design.  A large seating chart replaced table numbers for a bold decor statement.  Another playful touch was the puzzle pieces for guests to sign, rather than the traditional guest book.

Congratulations Leah and Reid!
