Wedding announcements should be used to let friends, family, and possibly professional colleagues who were not invited to the wedding know that a marriage took place. They might not have been invited for various reasons such as budget constraints, space considerations, or other reasons.
Don’t send someone an announcement (and not invite them) just because you know ahead of time they can’t come. That may cause hurt feelings.
